While the Medina and the пляж could keep you occupied for weeks, the region surrounding Essaouira is rich in diverse landscapes and cultural treasures. Here are the best day trips to take when the ветер is low or you simply want to see more of Марокко.
Sidi Kaouki: The Wild South
Just 25km south lies Sidi Kaouki. This bohemian village is a must-visit for its vast, wild пляжes and powerful волны. Even if you're not surfing, it's a great place for a lunch of fresh tajines right on the sand. You can also take a camel ride or a quad bike tour through the argan forests that hug the coastline.
Argan Oil Cooperatives: Liquid Gold
The road south towards Agadir is lined with Argan trees—the only place in the world where they grow naturally. We recommend visiting an all-female cooperative. You can see the traditional process of cracking the nuts by hand to produce cosmetic and culinary oil. It's a vital part of the local economy and a great place to buy authentic Moroccan gifts.

Diabat: The Ruins and Jimi Hendrix Legend
Located just across the river from the main пляж, the small village of Diabat is famous for the skeletal ruins of an old palace (Dar Sultan) that is slowly being swallowed by the sand. Legend says Jimi Hendrix drew inspiration from this atmospheric spot. Today, it's a peaceful place for a walk and offers some of the best horse riding trails in the area.
Imsouane: The Day Trip for Wave Lovers
For those willing to drive two hours, Imsouane is the ultimate surfers' pilgrimage. It's home to the longest wave in Марокко and is a stunning fishing village that feels frozen in time. Our school organizes weekly day trips here that are consistently the highlight of the week for our guests.
